Charles “Chuck” Redmond is BCAP Alliance Leader for Amazon Web Services.

Prior to joining AWS, was director of strategy for TRIDENT, a private equity firm which uses data and technology to invest in small businesses and provide equitable access to the American Dream. Chuck was also previously the Vice President of Finance and Operations at Venture Philanthropy Partners (VPP), a venture capital-style philanthropic organization based in Washington, D.C. investing in high-performing nonprofit organizations focused on children and youth. Chuck joined the VPP team in 2017 to lead the firm’s business support functions and long-term strategic planning. His responsibilities include budgeting and planning, financial reporting, and managing the use of funds for VPP investments to ensure that capital deployed is achieving target outcomes. Chuck also serves the Board of Directors as Investment Director and Assistant Treasurer and leads Board strategic planning discussions. His role at VPP builds upon work done earlier in his career to build financial sustainability while achieving measurable impact for mission-driven organizations.

Prior to joining VPP, Chuck worked as a strategist with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a rare disease-focused venture philanthropy organization, where he helped define core values for the organization and build a long-term financial model to frame resource allocation decisions against mission-related outcomes. Chuck began his career working as a consultant at McKinsey & Company where he supported clients on a range of topics from corporate finance to organizational health. While at McKinsey, Chuck co-founded the D.C. Social Impact Group which provides pro bono consulting services to nonprofits and social enterprises in the Greater Washington, D.C. area. He continues to serve as an advisor to nonprofits and social enterprises on an ad hoc basis.

In 2019, Chuck was named a Top Non-Profit CFO by DCA Live, a Washington, D.C.-based organization celebrating fast-growing companies and dynamic leaders across a range of catalyst industries. Chuck holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor of Science in International Business and Finance from the University of South Carolina.

His tenure as trustee of the Jessie Ball duPont Fund began in 2020.
